About the role

As our Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will take the lead in shaping and elevating the quality of our Fancom One controller - the smart brain behind modern livestock farms. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of passionate developers, testers and product managers to ensure that every release is stable, reliable and built for performance.

In this role, you will not only get hands-on with testing (both manual and automated) but also lead and mentor our QA team (3 engineers). In collaboration with the Lead Sr. Software Engineer you will define the direction for smarter, more efficient testing processes and make sure quality is deeply embedded in everything we build.

About Fancom One

Fancom One is our smart ecosystem for livestock farms — taking farming to the next level. It combines an intuitive HMI with a house computer that runs advanced algorithms and control logic to ensure the perfect climate and animal well-being.

Our software stack brings together Angular, C++, and Go, with Playwright powering our end-to-end automated tests. You will join a diverse and international team of 16 enthusiastic tech professionals who value teamwork, continuous improvement and having fun while delivering high-quality software.

Key responsibilities

Lead, coach and mentor a team of 3 QA engineers
Define and implement a clear QA strategy and roadmap for continuous improvement
Design, develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright (TypeScript)
Create and execute manual test plans and cases for new and existing features
Collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure smooth, high-quality releases
Improve and maintain the integration of automated testing in our CI/CD pipeline
Promote a culture of quality, testability and knowledge sharing within the team

What we are looking for

A degree in Computer Science or a related field (HBO/WO level)
Proven experience in both manual and automated software testing
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing
Strong knowledge of test design techniques and test methods
Experience leading or mentoring QA engineers
A solid understanding of testing best practices, agile workflows, and release management
A hands-on mindset and a proactive attitude
Strong analytical and communication skills in English — Dutch is a plus
A passion for quality and continuous improvement
Affinity with or interest in embedded systems or IoT environments is a big plus
