What does your job look like?

As Lead Senior Software Engineer you have the responsibility for a team of enthusiastic software engineers and you are the technical backbone within the team. You are able to make the right technological choices that best suit our - and our clients’ - business needs. You keep a close eye on whether these choices match well and integrate with the existing architecture. Based on your substantive knowledge, you guide software development projects by performing advisory and supporting tasks. You are also willing to design and provide strategic input regarding product development and work processes. In this rol you will report directly to the Director Innovation. Your work will mainly include:

  • Translating the needs of our Product Managers into user-friendly software solutions;
  • Ensuring that the right people are involved in the design and development process;
  • Coordinating work across projects and carrying it out, in collaboration with the project teams;
  • Determining the direction of the development team by proactively providing feedback and indicate how the development process should be;
  • Being able to substantiate technological choices, but also be receptive to new input;
  • Acting as a source of information if the developers can't figure it out themselves;
  • Taking final responsibility in the field of technological challenges;
  • Giving direction, coaching and motivating the team members;
  • Providing structure and an efficient way of working;
  • Creating frameworks and contributing to the existing architecture where hardware and software are separated;
  • Developing and maintaining applications that provide added value to our customers and ensuring that they seamlessly integrate with the existing architecture;
  • Being proficient in applying modern programming languages and technologies;
  • Initiating, coordinating and validating software developments with third parties.

Who are you?

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within the area of software engineering (or similar) and very technically skilled;
  • You have a good command of the English language (at least C1);
  • Your knowledge of modern programming languages ​​such as C++, Go, Angular is up to date;
  • Your knowledge of modern technologies such as Linux, MQTT, gRPC, HTTP/REST, Code generation, manifest files is up to date;
  • You are experienced in Agile Software Development methodology, Scrum and Jira;
  • Management experience is a plus;
  • You have good organizational skills enabling you to easily respond to changing situations;
  • Your communication and social skills are good;
  • You are an enthusiastic team player with persuasiveness and are result-oriented, proactive, flexible, independent and a stable factor for the team and company.
